The global push for sustainable innovation faces a major hurdle—many eco-driven startups struggle to balance impact with profitability. This challenge often leaves groundbreaking solutions stuck at the early stages, unable to scale. Czech-based Soulmates Ventures is stepping up to bridge that gap, offering both strategic investment and expert support to help these startups thrive.
Backing Sustainability with €50 Million in New Funding
Soulmates Ventures has unveiled a powerful €50 million fund dedicated to advancing sustainable technologies and impactful ventures. Designed to fuel growth, the fund offers initial investments of up to €3 million per startup, with an additional €5 million available in follow-on rounds.
Operating under Article 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the fund targets ventures that promise measurable environmental and social impact. But Soulmates Ventures goes beyond capital — they roll up their sleeves, working hand-in-hand with founders through an in-depth acceleration program focused on market expansion, strategy, and sustainability.
Closing the Gap Between Innovation and Impact
Founded in 2020 by Hynek Sochor, Soulmates Ventures was born out of a mission to tackle one of the market’s biggest blind spots — helping sustainable startups overcome the scaling challenge. While many solutions have the potential to combat global environmental problems, they often stumble due to limited funding and a lack of strategic guidance.
Soulmates Ventures steps in to fill that void. By offering a combination of up to $500,000 in seed funding and hands-on support, the firm helps promising ventures refine their operations, strengthen investor appeal, and accelerate their path to market.
“Our vision is simple,” shares Hynek Sochor, Founder and Managing Partner of Soulmates Ventures. “We back passionate teams with powerful products ready to make a difference. Once their rocket is primed, we fuel it — guiding them past challenges and pushing their success to new heights. Together, we shape a healthier planet and society.”
Triple-Layered Acceleration for Maximum Impact
What sets Soulmates Ventures apart is their deep involvement in startup success. Their distinctive triple-layered acceleration program connects founders with in-house specialists and a network of industry experts. This support covers mission-critical areas like:
- Brand development and marketing
- Financial planning and operations
- Sustainability and ESG strategy
- Expansion into new markets
With a focus on long-term growth, the firm not only supports seed-stage startups but also continues backing them through Series A rounds, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed at every stage.
Recognized Leader in Sustainable Venture Capital
Soulmates Ventures’ commitment to environmental and social impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. The firm was recently named VC of the Year at both the Central European Startup Awards and the Global Startup Awards. Additionally, the World Future Awards recognized it as the Best Sustainability-Focused VC Ecosystem — a testament to its industry leadership.
A Growing Portfolio of Impact-Driven Startups
To date, Soulmates Ventures has made 26 investments supporting 17 startups across Europe. Their growing portfolio spans eight critical sectors: air, water, energy, mobility, circular economy, food and agriculture, education, and healthcare.
Some of their standout investments include:
- eAgronom – Empowering sustainable farming practices
- Kardi AI – Revolutionizing heart health monitoring
- Signapse AI – Using generative AI to improve accessibility for the Deaf community
- Flowpay and Fusebox – Fintech and energy optimization solutions
- Madmonq, Youni, and Twin Science – Driving innovation in health, education, and science
Notably, Soulmates Ventures led a €2.4 million seed round for Signapse, a UK-based startup developing AI-powered sign language translation software — reflecting their dual focus on environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
ESG-Driven Investing Backed by Rigorous Standards
The new €50 million fund reaffirms the firm’s unwavering commitment to sustainability. Operating under SFDR’s Article 9, Soulmates ensures every investment meets the strictest ESG criteria. This framework provides transparency for investors, offering clear insight into how each startup tackles environmental and social challenges while delivering measurable impact.
“Our strategy has always been sustainability-first,” Sochor explains. “By aligning with Article 9 SFDR, we provide our partners with confidence — knowing their investments are driving real change, supported by robust ESG metrics.”
