Orca is leveling up its cloud security game. The company just announced the acquisition of Opus Security, an Israeli startup that builds AI-driven cloud remediation tools.

Although Orca didn’t share the price, the message is clear. The deal pushes Orca beyond just spotting risks—it’s now aiming to fix them automatically using AI.

Founded in 2022 by Meny Har and Or Gabay, Opus has made waves in cloud security. Its platform uses artificial intelligence to automate how companies respond to security issues. It also integrates easily with existing tools and guides the response process with pre-set playbooks.

These founders aren’t new to the space either. Both previously worked at Siemplify, which Google Cloud acquired in 2021.

Now, Orca plans to weave Opus’ capabilities into its own platform. The goal is to automatically detect, prioritize, and fix cloud security risks. It’s part of a bigger shift in the industry—from just identifying problems to solving them in real time.

“This is the next big leap for both Orca and the cloud security world,” said Gil Geron, Orca’s CEO and co-founder. “We’re moving into an era of intelligent action where problems don’t just show up—they get handled automatically.”

The move also adds fuel to Orca’s rivalry with cloud security unicorn Wiz, which is owned by Google. With this acquisition, Orca is clearly signaling that it plans to lead in the space of automated cloud defense.

Orca is already one of the most well-funded players in cloud security. The company was last valued at $1.8 billion after a $210 million Series C round. So far, it has raised $632 million from top investors like GGV Capital, Capital G, Redpoint Ventures, Temasek, and ICONIQ Capital.

With Opus now in its corner, Orca is betting big on the future of hands-free, AI-powered cloud security. And that future might arrive faster than anyone expected.
