As artificial intelligence rapidly evolves, traditional security methods struggle to keep pace. Businesses worldwide are embracing AI chatbots and conversational agents, but these tools come with serious security risks. Recognizing this gap, SplxAI has developed an advanced platform designed to protect agentic AI systems from emerging threats by continuously monitoring, testing, and securing these applications.
The New York-based startup recently raised $7 million in seed funding to accelerate its mission. LAUNCHub Ventures led the round, joined by Rain Capital, Inovo, Runtime Ventures, DNV Ventures, and South Central Ventures. This fresh capital will help SplxAI expand its platform, allowing companies to secure both internal AI agents and customer-facing applications with automated testing, dynamic threat remediation, and real-time monitoring.
Tackling AI Security Challenges with Next-Gen Technology
Founded in 2023 by Kristian Kamber and Ante Gojsalić, SplxAI aims to close the glaring security gaps plaguing AI-powered conversational systems. Kamber, who previously worked in software and IT sales at firms like Zscaler, teamed up with Gojsalić, an experienced AI consultant. Together, they understood the growing need for specialized security tools designed to protect large language models (LLMs) and AI chatbots.
Their expert team includes AI red teamers and ethical hackers with experience in competitions like Wiz Capture-the-Flag and Black Hat. Since launching in August 2024, SplxAI has seen impressive 127% quarter-over-quarter growth. Major clients such as KPMG, Infobip, Brand Engagement Network, and Glean are already leveraging its platform.
In a move to strengthen its capabilities, SplxAI also released Agentic Radar, an open-source tool designed to map dependencies within AI workflows and uncover security gaps using static code analysis.
The company’s recent achievement of SOC2 Type I compliance further demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest security standards.
A Scalable Solution for AI Security
SplxAI’s platform was born out of the need to protect AI agents at scale. Traditional security tools often fall short when safeguarding LLM-powered applications, leaving businesses exposed to evolving threats like prompt injections, off-topic responses, and AI hallucinations.
“Our mission is to redefine how security leaders and AI practitioners test their AI applications and workflows,” shared CEO Kristian Kamber. “Manual testing simply can’t keep up with how fast large language models evolve. SplxAI’s platform is the only scalable solution that provides the tools needed to secure agentic AI confidently.”
Empowering Enterprises to Secure AI-Driven Systems
SplxAI is laser-focused on protecting AI-driven conversational apps and agentic workflows. Their advanced platform delivers ongoing automated security assessments, ensuring these systems operate safely and reliably. Financial institutions and enterprises adopting AI assistants benefit from continuous monitoring that helps neutralize risks before they escalate.
The startup is also partnering with ethical hacking platform Hackrate, combining human expertise with automated penetration testing to strengthen defenses against new AI-specific threats. This strategic move reflects SplxAI’s proactive stance on securing next-generation AI systems.
Addressing the Rising Security Risks of Agentic AI
By 2028, nearly 33% of enterprise applications are expected to incorporate agentic AI, driving the need for specialized security solutions. As businesses move from basic LLM-powered assistants to complex AI workflows, the attack surface expands. SplxAI is tackling this challenge head-on by simulating real-world adversarial attacks and mimicking the tactics of sophisticated hackers.
This approach allows businesses to detect vulnerabilities early—neutralizing potential threats like injection attacks or hallucinations—without disrupting operations. It’s a vital layer of protection that secures not just AI systems but also a company’s reputation and operational integrity.
Investors Back SplxAI’s Vision for Scalable AI Security
LAUNCHub Ventures General Partner Stan Sirakov expressed confidence in SplxAI’s bold approach, saying, “SplxAI is the only player with a scalable plan for managing AI security risks. We’re excited to support their mission to advance the state of agentic AI security.” As part of the investment, Sirakov will join SplxAI’s Board of Directors.
Additionally, cybersecurity veteran Sandy Dunn, former CISO at Brand Engagement Network, will spearhead the development of SplxAI’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) offering as the company’s new Chief Information Security Officer.
With the funding in place, SplxAI is poised to lead the charge in redefining AI security, helping businesses embrace AI innovation without sacrificing safety.
