A new healthtech startup called Superpower has launched with a bold promise: to catch health problems before you even feel them. The company is positioning itself as a next-gen health companion, blending AI, blood biomarker testing, and concierge-level support into what it calls the world’s first “super-app” for proactive health management.
At the core of Superpower’s offer is a $499 membership plan that includes biannual lab tests. These tests measure over 100 biomarkers across 21 health categories—far more detailed than what most people get during a routine checkup. Members can choose to complete their testing at home or at any of Superpower’s 2,000 partner labs nationwide.
But the real power lies in what happens after the testing. Superpower’s web-based platform processes results using AI, layering them with users’ fitness tracker data, genetic history, and medical records to generate a personalized health overview. It flags potential concerns early and delivers a tailored action plan to help users take control of their health before problems snowball.
The idea behind Superpower was born from deeply personal experiences. Founders Jacob Peters, Max Marchione, and Kevin Unkrich all faced devastating healthcare delays in their own lives—ranging from misdiagnoses to tragic loss. Their experiences fueled a shared mission: to close the gap between elite-level medical care and what most people can actually access.
Today, roughly 40% of Americans live with undetected or mismanaged health conditions—many of which could have been prevented with earlier insights. That’s the problem Superpower aims to fix.
The app’s features go beyond standard health tracking. Users receive two unique scores: a Superpower Score that shows overall health progress, and a Biological Age estimate to help identify areas for improvement. For those who want even deeper insights, the platform also offers optional add-ons like gut microbiome testing and Grail cancer screenings that can spot over 50 types of cancer before symptoms appear.
Superpower’s ecosystem doesn’t stop with diagnostics. Members gain access to a connected marketplace of health service providers and can reach out to a 24/7 hybrid concierge team—powered by both AI and real humans—for personalized guidance.
“This is just the starting point,” said co-founder Peters. “We’re building a new front door to healthcare—one that’s unified, personalized, and continuous. Instead of navigating a maze of specialists, apps, and test results, people finally have one place to manage their health journey.”
The timing couldn’t be better. Every day, billions of people search Google or turn to ChatGPT for health answers. But as Marchione points out, search engines don’t know your personal health history. Superpower does. And it’s designed to respond with scientifically grounded insights backed by expert collaboration.
To help fuel its growth, Superpower just announced a $30 million Series A funding round led by Forerunner. The round also attracted an eclectic mix of investors, including celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Steve Aoki, and NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Other backers include Susa Ventures, Day One Ventures, Long Journey Ventures, and Winklevoss Capital.
As of launch, over 150,000 people are on the waitlist. With public access now open, Superpower is working to meet that demand while refining its user experience. For now, the platform is available via web browser, with iOS and Android apps on the way.
In a world where health issues too often go unnoticed until it’s too late, Superpower is betting that early data—and the right technology—can change everything.
